I just recently installed iTunesSpy on my site (http://route59.org/WordPress) and I’m receiving this error:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/route59/public_html/WordPress/wp-content/themes/route59/sidebar.php on line 22

Line 22 is this code: foreach ($tracks as $track) {

Any suggestions?

If you want to use iTunesSpy with the ituneswatcher 2 windows application or the itunesspy.applescript, you have to set the input mode to “GET”. Otherwise the insertion of tracks won’t work.
The error you reported occurs if there are no tracks saved in the db (and if you didn’t check the variable $tracks before trying to display the tracks throught a foreach).
If you want to check the variable $tracks just look at the samples.php around line 14 (sample 1)…
You can insert a track for testing purposes if you call http://route59.org/WordPress/?itunesspy=pages&itunesspy_page=input-test.php.
But before that, download the new version of iTunesSpy (2.0.4) because I’ve found and bugfixed a litte error.

I still can’t figure out how to get the tracks to show up on the main page. iTunesWatcher is loading them into the database just fine, see? http://www.route59.org/iTunes/ So why isn’t iTunesSpy finding the files? I don’t recall entering any MySQL database information for iTunesSpy, just the Watcher. I inserted a track for testing purposes and that showed up just fine.

The “iTunesWatcher” (you’re using under http://www.route59.org/iTunes/) and the iTunesSpy (for WordPress) are two different projects and they don’t use the same MySql table!!! So you have to insert every track into the iTunesWatcher AND the iTunesSpy. To do that just enter “http://www.route59.org/iTunes/_insert.php|http://www. route59.org/WordPress/?itunesspy=true”.
So you can tell the “ituneswatcher 2″ windows application to insert the data to several installations of iTunesSpy or iTunesWatcher (You only have to seperate the urls with an “|”!)
Now it should work…

Okay, I’ve completely done away with the iTunes since it isn’t what I wanted to work. I just want the last 5 songs option on the sidebar as you have yours. Since I’m having no problems whatsoever with the songs appearning when I manually add them I’m convinced I have my information entered wrong on the iTunesWatcher settings. They are as follows:
URL: http://www.route59.org/WordPress/?itunesspy=true
Acess Type: default
Proxy: blank
Username: route59
Password: ******
Protocol: FTP
Remote Host: http://www.route59.org/
Remote Port: 21 (the port in my FTP program)
Authentication: ******

When I installed iTunes it never mentioned creating a MySQL db so I’m assuming it does this on it’s own? There is no visible db in my control panel. I don’t know what else to do. I’ve played with this for hours and still can’t seem to get it to work.

All the above mentioned settings are correct, beside the protocol. You have to use “HTTP” because ituneswatcher2 sends the trackinfo over the http-protocol to the server.
Here you have all the necessary settings for ituneswatcher2:


The iTunesSpy creates the MySql tables itself. This tables are: WordPress-Table-Prefix + ‘its_songs’, ‘its_play’, ‘its_artcache’, ‘its_amazon’

Error: The server didn’t reply with a 200 or 206 reply code.

I’ll ask my host I guess. I don’t know what else to do.

The next step is:
Give me your iTunesSpy authorization code (you can set it temporary to whatever you like) and then let me have a look at your installation.
If you’ll do so send it to itunesspy@crea-doo.at so that nobody else can have access.
